For Verkade, Your Tech Club developed a custom promotional campaign platform used for a nationwide consumer promotion around chocolate bars. The campaign focused on maximum participation, giving consumers a chance to win more than 10,000 prizes, including interior design prizes.

The promotion was publicly accessible via Verkade winactie – maak kans op €10.000 voor je nieuwe interieur. Because this was a large-scale campaign with high peak traffic and the processing of personal data, the platform had to meet strict requirements in terms of performance, validation, and information security. Standard promotional tools did not offer sufficient flexibility, which is why a fully custom solution was chosen.

The solution: a fully custom promotional campaign platform

Your Tech Club developed an integrated custom promotional campaign platform consisting of a public campaign website, an AI-driven backend, and a secure admin dashboard. The platform is modularly built, allowing components to be reused easily for future campaigns.

A key component of the custom promotional campaign platform is the automatic processing of purchase receipts. Google Document AI was used for this purpose—an OCR solution that automatically analyzes receipts.

After upload, the system performs text recognition, detects relevant Verkade products, and checks whether the submission meets the campaign requirements. Duplicate receipts are automatically detected, effectively preventing fraud.

Through the dashboard, submissions can be viewed, filtered, and exported. Statistics on submission volumes, approved entries, and rejections are immediately available. This gives Verkade full control over the campaign without relying on external tools or manual processes.

Security and ISO 27001 as a foundation

Because the custom promotional campaign platform processes personal data and uploads, security was built into the design from the ground up. The architecture follows ISO 27001 principles, including strict separation between frontend and backend, secure file storage, and encrypted communication.
