About Dutch Lake Residence

In the Vlietlanden area in the Netherlands, Dutch Lake Residence is being developed — a project where nature, recreation and residential development come together. A long-term development with multiple stakeholders, multiple audiences and a high information density, requiring a communications platform that radiates calm and clarity.

A digital platform that builds trust and brings clarity

How Your Tech Club designed and built a calm, scalable custom platform for Dutch Lake Residence using Next.js and a headless CMS.

The challenge

The challenge — making complex information understandable

For projects like Dutch Lake Residence, what matters isn’t just what you build — it’s how you communicate it.

There are multiple audiences: local residents, stakeholders, media and partners involved in the project. Each is looking for different information, but all expect the same thing — clarity and transparency.

The previous digital setup didn’t offer enough structure for that. Information was available, but not optimally organized and hard to navigate.

The challenge was clear:
How do you translate a complex development project into a platform that radiates calm, clarity and trust?

The solution

The solution — one central place where everything comes together

We built a new digital platform for Dutch Lake Residence in which all information logically converges. No scattered pages, but a clear architecture where visitors find what they need within seconds — adapted to their role and information need.

The design was fully custom-developed in Figma by Sophie Koeleman, with a focus on calm, hierarchy and readability. No visual noise, no excess. Every element earns its place.

On the technical side, we chose a modern frontend built with React and Next.js, powered by a headless CMS. The result: lightning-fast load times, a stable user experience on every device, and a content layer that can grow alongside the project.

The technology

The technology — fast, scalable and future-ready

By choosing Next.js and a headless approach, the platform is flexible and built to last:

  • Pages load instantly thanks to static generation and intelligent caching
  • Content is structured in reusable modules
  • The platform can be extended easily as the project evolves — new phases, new audience portals, new communication channels
  • Top-tier discoverability — perfect Core Web Vitals, a strong SEO foundation and a clean HTML structure that’s also well-read by modern AI search engines
The result

The result — more clarity, more trust

The end result is a platform that does exactly what it’s meant to do. Visitors find the right information faster, understand the project better and gain trust in what’s being built.

The platform:

Brings clarity to a complex development with multiple phases and stakeholders
Makes complex information understandable without dumbing it down
Allows for growth and updates — new phases are a publication, not a rebuild
Supports communication to every audience from a single source of truth
Performs at the highest level — sub-second load times, perfect Core Web Vitals

Not every website needs to sell. Sometimes a platform just needs to do one thing: bring clarity to complexity. And that is exactly what we built here.

Why was Next.js and React chosen?

Next.js delivers sub-second load times through static generation and server-side rendering, while React provides a component-based architecture that’s easy to extend. For Dutch Lake Residence, that meant a fast platform that can scale smoothly for years to come, without the codebase becoming complex or fragile.

How long did the development take?

The full project duration was 12 weeks, from first strategy session to launch. Within that, design (Figma), development and content implementation ran partly in parallel. Post-launch extensions are delivered in 1–2 week iterations.

Can the platform be extended later?

Yes. The headless architecture and modular content structure mean new page types, sections or even new audience portals are a publishing exercise rather than a rebuild. Future project phases can be added directly without a developer track.

Is a headless CMS good for SEO?

Yes — when built correctly. With SSR/SSG, clean URLs, full metadata control, canonicals, structured data and strong internal linking, a headless setup is excellent for SEO. Often better than a traditional CMS, because you have full control over what the search engine sees.

Who designed the platform?

The full UI design was custom-developed in Figma by Sophie Koeleman, with a focus on calm, hierarchy and readability. The design was built for ease of reading and navigation speed — not visual flash.

Does the platform work on every device?

Yes. The platform is fully responsive and tested on desktop, tablet and mobile. On mobile, the site loads in under a second and all information is just as accessible as on desktop.

Can the platform integrate with external systems?

Yes. Through the headless architecture, integrations with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce), form platforms, newsletter tools and analytics platforms can be added easily — either via embed or via API.

How is success measured?

We’ve set up GA4 with events for CTA clicks, form submissions, filter interactions and key navigation actions. This gives Dutch Lake Residence end-to-end insight into which information visitors actually look for and use — input for further optimization.

Is the platform GDPR-compliant?

Yes. Cookies and tracking are only loaded after explicit consent through a GDPR-compliant consent banner. All data flows are documented and hosting complies with EU data residency requirements.
